Due to the possibility that music may not arrive by January 4, our first 2010 spring rehearsal will be Monday, January 11, at 7 p.m. in the choir room at First United Methodist Church.
 

This semester we will be performing spirituals and black gospel.  The pieces I have selected are:

If you have sang with us for several years, then you have performed "This Little Light of Mine" and "Shout Glory."  If you purchased a copy of these pieces but turned it into the library, please contact me or Sandy Wright to get your name on the list of first recipients.
 

As of this writing, I do not have a confirmed concert date.  I hope to have that before our first rehearsal.  It will be posted here on the announcements page as soon as that information is available.
 

There will be solo opportunities in this music.  Some of the solos will require more than just a fine voice.  They will require a particular sound and energy, especially the gospel selections.  The demos should be posted online in the next few days.  You will have to enter the "Members Only" section from the home page.  The login information will be changing, so you will need to check your email or call or text to get the new username and password.
 

If you are interested in a practice CD, you can email or text me and I will bring them to the first rehearsal.  Otherwise, there will be a sign-up sheet at rehearsals.
